Internship Opportunities

At Hanley Center, we welcome the opportunity to work with individuals enrolled in a graduate-level program that requires an internship as part of their course work.

You may apply for an internship at Hanley if you are pursuing a Masters Degree in

  • Social Work
  • Mental Health Counseling
  • Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Psychology
  • Substance Abuse Counseling

It would be especially helpful if you have a strong interest in the addiction and substance abuse field.

To ensure the level of care and support we expect for our patients, the Hanley Center requires a commitment of 25 hours per week – more than the typical internship program. The additional time also provides you with meaningful clinical experiences such as

  • Attendance at daily multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Facilitating patient groups
  • Minimum of 2 sessions per week with patients
  • Daily staff meetings
  • Supervision time

If you are interested in our internship program, please call 561-841-1112. We will email you an internship application to complete and return with a brief resume. Based on interest and gender, (Hanley Center provides gender-specific treatment with gender-specific staff), your application and resume will be sent to a Program Manager in the appropriate recovery unit (Milestone Program for Women, Benchmark Program for Men, Freedom Program for Boomers, Independence Program for Older Adults).

If you meet our qualifications, you will be invited to the Hanley Center for a personal interview. After the team meets to review and discuss your qualifications, we will notify you of our decision.

Prior to starting your internship, we must establish a formal written agreement between your school and Hanley Center that outlines the obligations, terms, and conditions of both parties.
