Barbara Gale, Professional Outreach Manager, joined Hanley Center in 2007. Her responsibilities include establishing and maintaining new and existing professional relationships with individuals, referents, physicians, substance abuse providers and employee assistance programs. Barbara develops and implements clinical outreach programs and marketing strategies for her region and provides education about chemical dependency to families and individuals.
Barbara has been in recovery for 32 years and brings a strong personal commitment to her work. She represents Hanley Center in the Northeast states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland and Pennsylvania, as well as Nevada, California and Arizona.
She began her chemical dependency marketing career at the Caron Foundation, where she was Outreach Service Representative from 2001 to 2007. Barbara established a New York and Connecticut network within the chemical dependency industry to identify potential clients for Caron facilities and programs in Pennsylvania and Florida. She also developed and implemented marketing strategies and provided direct education outreach for referents, families and potential patients.
Barbara has held positions in career recruitment for Bookman Associates, New York City, and before that, had 25 years of experience in the medical field. She was research associate, neurosurgery, Yale–New Haven Hospital, in New Haven, Conn., where she authored two research papers. Her medical positions included department head of cardiology and neurology laboratories in New York and Connecticut hospitals. She lives in Wilton, Conn.
