It is common for a patient to have continued care needs on an outpatient basis following in-patient care, and it is a powerful method to avoid relapse following treatment. There are circumstances where a patient is at a point in their addiction recovery process where they are able to go home and resume their everyday lives, but still need help in other areas, such as a regular meeting with a trusted psychologist to help them remain on track
