Application To Practice (45 CEU’s) (Transdisciplinary Foundation)
Course Description
This course introduces participants to evidenced based individual, group, and counseling techniques. Additionally, models of treatment, current research, medication assisted treatment, and wellness, alternative therapies, and nutritional approaches will be explored. Effective observation and communication skills along with supervision techniques, management and leadership principals will be examined.
Course Outcomes
At the completion of this course participants should be able to:
1. Examine individual, group, and family counseling techniques
2. Explain and identify evidenced based models of treatment
3. Explain special population needs
4. Practice observation and communication skills
5. Understand and apply current research
6. Explore wellness, alternative therapies, and nutritional needs
7. Understand medication assisted treatment
8. Be able to practice supervision techniques, management and leadership skills
Course Format
Participants will be involved in lectures, small groups discussion, and small group activities.

Session I (15 CEU’s)

1. Models of treatment
