Group and Family Counseling (30 CEU’s) (Practice Dimension)

Course Description
This course introduces participants to key concepts of the group process. Additionally, individuals will be introduced to various family systems, approaches to counseling. The elements of special population in the treatment planning process will be introduced.
Course Outcomes
At the completion of the course you should be able to:
1. Describe the stages of the group process
2. Demonstrate effective group leadership skills
3. Describe various family system approaches
4. Develop treatment plans for special populations
Course Format
Participants will be involved in lectures, small group discussions, and small group activies.
