Professional Readiness (45 CEU’s) (Transdisciplinary Foundation)

Course Description
This course introduces participants to laws governing privacy, confidentiality, HIPPA,
and ethical decision making processes in the addiction field. Additionally, it will review
assessing the needs of special populations along with an exploration of supervision,
management, and leadership models.
Course Outcomes
At the completion of this course participants should be able to:
1. Examine the needs of special populations
2. Examine rules, regulations, and laws related to addictions counseling
3. Examine ethical guidelines and decision making related to addictions counseling
4. Explore care for the care-giver
5. Identify and examine supervision, management, and leadership models
Course Format
Participants will be involved in lectures, small group discussion, and small group activities.
