Course Description
This course introduces participants to the current theoretical approaches. Such approaches
Reviewed include Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, Brief Therapy, Family systems along with various other evidenced based theories.
Course Outcomes
At the completion of this course you should be able to:
1. Explain the various psychodynamic models of counseling
2. Explain the various cognitive behavioral models of counseling
3. Explain the various humanistic models of counseling
4. Explain the various brief therapeutic models of counseling
5. Explain the various family systems models of counseling
Course Format
Participants will be involved in lectures, small group discussions, and small group activities.
