What is Outpatient Treatment for Adolescents?
At the Hanley Center, adolescent outpatient treatment is alcohol and substance abuse counseling for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 who may find themselves experimenting with drugs and alcohol on an occasional basis, using and abusing drugs frequently, or chemically dependent on alcohol and other addictive substances.
Treatment is determined by the stage of substance use the adolescent is in and may include any or all of the following:
- Individual counseling
- Group therapy
- Family sessions
- Drug testing
- Attendance at an outside community-based support group that addresses addiction
