Adult Outpatient Program

Outpatient treatment for adult men and women is available through the Center for Outpatient Services at Hanley Resource Center. All outpatient drug and alcohol treatment is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual while fostering physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery.
Outpatient treatment is a less restrictive level of care that allows you to seek treatment for substance abuse while maintaining your commitments to family and work. Those in recovery who have completed an inpatient program can also continue treatment on an outpatient basis.
Outpatient treatment for adults begins with a comprehensive psychosocial substance abuse and mental health assessment. This assessment serves to identify severity of substance related problems and to determine the most appropriate level of care. For example, we may recommend weekly outpatient therapy, our Intensive Outpatient Program, or residential treatment at Hanley Center.
Types of Outpatient Therapy
We offer a comprehensive range of individual and group outpatient therapy for drug and alcohol abuse and process addictions:
Individual counseling and psychotherapy: Our licensed, qualified staff of addiction therapists and mental health professionals provides a full range of therapies to address alcoholism and substance abuse, co-occurring mental health disorders, trauma, co-dependency, and process addictions such as eating disorders, gambling, sexual compulsion, compulsive shopping, etc.
Intensive outpatient program: A structured program provides intensive substance abuse treatment in an outpatient format.
Gender-specific counseling: Gender-specific care assures that the treatment of men and women addresses substance abuse issues and dynamics unique to each gender.
Relapse prevention: Staying sober requires staying focused on recovery and practicing what was learned in treatment. Several support groups are available at the Resource Center to help prevent relapse for those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.
Family programs and co-dependency treatment: The disease of addiction affects all family members and can devastate family systems. To help families and those involved in codependent relationships, we offer a broad range of programs.
Couples therapy: We help couples overcome the stresses of living through addiction so they can live together in harmony and with consistent emotional support for each other.
Anger management: Debilitating anger, its sources, and methods of overcoming it are addressed in the context of addiction and lasting recovery.
Process addiction treatment: We offer counseling and support groups for treating process addictions. Process addiction is an addiction to an activity or behavior, such as eating, shopping, sex, or gambling. These compulsive behaviors can be as debilitating as those associated with drug and alcohol addictions, and they require psychological treatment.
