The Journey of the Labyrinth
Your life is a sacred journey of transformation, discovery, and awareness. It is ever-expanding your vision of who you are and what is possible. The spiritual pilgrimage is about learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, facing challenges every step of the way.
The Labyrinth is a metaphor for God or your Higher Power. Centuries ago, spiritual sojourners who were unable to go to the Holy Land made this symbolic walk. In modern times, walking the Labyrinth has come to represent the inner pilgrimage we make to the center of our being.

This canvas replica is similar to the one found on the floor of the Chartres Cathedral around 1200 A.D. By walking this Labyrinth, a person rediscovers a long-forgotten mystical tradition for spiritual growth and prayer.
The mysterious winding path that takes us to and from the center of the Labyrinth becomes a metaphor for our own spiritual journey. There is no one way to walk the Labyrinth, no right or wrong, no dead ends, no time limit. Our journey is never direct or straight. It takes unexpected, unplanned and authentic turns.
How to Walk the Labyrinth
You must walk the Labyrinth with an open mind, heart, and spirit.
As you are entering the Labyrinth, quiet your mind. Release old patterns of thinking, worn-out ideas, broken memories, and unhealthy behavior distracting you from being focused and aware. Find the pace your body wants to go. Don’t rush; savor the journey and process your thoughts and feelings along the way.
At the center of the Labyrinth, stand, kneel, or sit quietly as you reflect, pray, or meditate. Focus on the peace, consciousness, clarity, and freedom of the moment.
As you are leaving the Labyrinth, follow the same path out as you entered. Allow yourself to experience your Higher Power empowering and leading your journey to recovery.
Lessons of the Labyrinth
For some people, walking the Labyrinth is nothing more than a time for peaceful reflection and a calming experience. For others, the experience is transforming and energizing, allowing them let go of sorrow and grief and embrace change and joy. By simply walking the Labyrinth, you can create a mind-body-spirit connection and a feeling of wholeness.
