Wellness for Men





At the Center for Men's Recovery, wellness is an important part of the recovery process, promoting sobriety through individual fitness and exercise programs that typically include



  • Cardio workouts on a treadmill or stationary bike in the gym
  • Weight training with free weights and dumbbells
  • Walking or jogging on the trail around the campus
  • Swimming
  • Water volleyball
  • Frisbee golf
  • Ping-pong
  • Mindful meditation


Basketball is another wellness activity that is popular among men and on any given day you might find yourself engaged in a friendly game of hoops.

In addition, you will also participate in experiential activities with other men from your recovery unit. Experiential activities such as trust walks and ropes course present a problem or obstacle that will challenge you physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. They require teamwork and trust to be completed successfully, and they result in feelings of pride and accomplishment.
