Wellness for Older Adults

At the Center for Older Adults’ Recovery, wellness is an important part of the recovery process, promoting sobriety through individual fitness and exercise programs that typically include
- Cardio workouts on a stationary bike in the gym
- Walking or jogging on the trail around the campus
- Swimming
- Mindful meditation
The Nintendo® Wii is another wellness activity that is popular among older adults, and on any given day you might find yourself engaged in a friendly round of tennis, golf, or bowling.
In addition, you will also participate in an experiential activity known as a trust walk. This trust-building activity helps develop communication and cooperation skills, as well as mutual respect, openness, understanding, and empathy.
