Addiction Indicators

Hanley Center is constantly tracking and researching potential addiction indicators. At their most basic level, addiction indicators are essentially elements in the blood that can be used to predict which combination of customized clinical interventions are likely to have the most profound impact on an individual.

Our goal at Hanley Center is to evaluate historical patient records to pinpoint potential bio-marker indicators. Being aware of the addiction indicators within the bloodstream of the patient can have a profound effect on the recovery process. Knowing what predispositions are present as bio-markers helps with the challenge of recovery, and to guide the development of individualized and custom treatment plan of tailored interventions.

Knowing which individual patients possess these particular inhibitors in their blood gives Hanley Center the distinct advantage to provide special and more tenacious treatment to these patients, who will need more help than those lacking the bio-markers in question. Following is a list of areas for Hanley Center’s research collaborative for addiction indicators:

  • Markers identified in the blood
  • Evaluate historical patient records
  • Evaluate potential addiction bio-marker indicators
  • Relationship to treatment completion & standardized tests
  • Implications for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Admission & discharge measurement (Folstein; SASSI; ASI)
  • Track patient outcomes
  • DSM IV TR, all AXIS – primary, secondary and tertiary
