With over 35 years of addiction and recovery experience, Hanley Center offers specialized services with an integrated approach to medical and clinical care.

Hanley’s programs include residential, transitional, and outpatient addiction programs and a Mental Health Progam. We offer patient-driven care, along with age and gender-specific treatment options for men, women, and older adults. Our doctors, nurses, therapists, and psychologists provide comprehensive, evidence-based addiction treatment, with a focus on individual and family recovery.

Addiction As a Chronic Health Condition

Addiction is a chronic, neurobiological disease that often co-occurs with mental disorders and other medical conditions. Hanley’s ASAM-certified, multidisciplinary team treats these co-occurring disorders at the same time as substance abuse.

With compassion and care, we design customized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of every patient. Each of our individual therapies are carefully selected based on rigorous assessments.

Treating Every Dimension of Wellness

Upon entering Hanley, our clinical and medical specialists guide you through evaluations, supervised medical detox, and our specialized menu of treatment interventions. Every treatment plan includes elements of medical, physical, psychological, and spiritual care.

Special group sessions with peers from similar stages of life and experience will explore your personal issues and barriers to recovery. Evidence-based therapies are prescribed individually and may include these approaches, among others:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Restructuring
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
  • Recreational Therapies

Addiction Is a Family Disease

We know addiction is a family illness that affects the entire family system. Hanley’s team is committed to empowering families and loved ones by arming families with the facts about substance use. We also help you identify the dysfunctional family dynamics that can prolong the addiction.

Our comprehensive Family Program paves the way for healing and sustained recovery for all. We encourage participation in services geared toward the entire family.

Ongoing Care, Lasting Recovery

At Hanley, detoxification and residential treatment lay the groundwork for lifelong recovery and continuing care. Continuing care recommendations may include outpatient treatment, individual counseling sessions, or other levels of treatment.

The foundations of recovery are built at Hanley, and our dedicated Alumni Services Team keeps in personal contact with our patients after discharge.

Medical Services

From medical detox that is safe and comfortable to the treatment of co-occurring medical conditions, Hanley’s team is committed to the total wellness of both body and mind. Our programs were also among the first to be certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Visit our Medical Care page to learn more about how we can support all of your medical needs, including complex medical diagnoses.

Age and Gender-Specific Options

We offer separate treatment programs for adults, mid-life adults, and older adults. In addition, we offer gender-specific treatment for men and women who need to build and experience support with people of their own gender. Hanley’s clinical team and admissions specialists work closely together to find the right program for your unique circumstances.

Led by Hanley’s licensed psychologist, our team of brain recovery specialists offers advanced psychological testing, outcomes-driven clinical interventions, and therapies that work on a cellular level to heal the brain.

From neurotherapy to neurofeedback, these therapies help people with substance use, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and other conditions overcome the barriers to wellness.

The co-occurrence of mental health disorders and deeply rooted trauma are common among men and women who are struggling to recover. Our highly trained staff provides specialized services for patients who have experienced trauma in order to address these concerns.

Religious affiliation is not required for Hanley’s Spiritual Care Services – or to find inner peace. Health spirituality reminds people struggling with substance use that there are forces out there greater than themselves that can positively influence their recovery. If you wish, you may also meet regularly with our full-time chaplain to nurture your spirituality.

Through the group adventure experience, we guide you to challenge yourself in activities with our recreational therapist. By incorporating the body into the recovery process, it is possible to gain confidence and learn to become active in your path to healing.

Before you even step foot on campus, we begin developing personalized continuing care plans that prepare you for lifelong success. Our clinicians and Alumni Care Coordinators work alongside you and your family to create a strategy for ongoing health and happiness.

We guide each patient in our care to truly understand timeless recovery principles. Led by a team of people in recovery themselves, we share the benefits of 12-Step recovery in a way that is accessible to anyone from any background. Our patients do more than simply attend meetings; we show each person how to have an authentic experience with the Steps themselves.
