Hanley Center Counseling – A Community Resource

Apr 6, 2023

By: Tommy C. McGee LMHC, CAP, QS Clinical Director – Hanley Center Counseling

Hanley is excited to expand our services at Hanley Center by providing outpatient services at Hanley Center Counseling (HCC). Hanley Counseling Center serves as a bridge to our West Palm Beach, Florida community and beyond, as an access point for mental, emotional, spiritual, and social growth, development, and rehabilitation. This community resource extends an open therapeutic hand if you have come to a challenging crossroads in your life and are faced with hard decisions or obstacles related to your mental health.

Here at HCC, we have a trained and experienced group of professionals with the expertise to offer workshops, intensives, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for addiction and mental health. We aim to partner with you as you seek the support of a mental health professional to overcome your substance or alcohol use disorder, receive mental health education and treatment, and find help from discord or estrangement in your relationships. We also seek to offer professional development opportunities for you if you are a local healthcare professional.

If you or a loved one need help, call our admissions team today at 561-841-1033.

What services does HCC offer for mental health or addiction disorders?

Our licensed and certified therapists offer options for addressing your substance use and mental health challenges through various clinical modalities. Our clinicians are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, and other trauma-informed techniques. We have experience utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and other methods to address your substance use and mental health disorder symptoms.

HCC admits you to the level of care that fits your life responsibilities and your emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. We may recommend that you attend our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or Outpatient Program (OP). For addiction services, these recommendations are always based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.

PHP is recommended if you need more supervision in a setting that also assists you in connecting to the recovery community. We recommend PHP if you pose a moderate risk to yourself or the community due to a substance use disorder or mental health challenge. IOP suits employment or family commitments that make committing to our housing component impossible. IOP is an option if you are not a danger to yourself or others due to substance use or mental health challenges.

What type of professional development opportunities does HCC offer?

Our workshops are an educational platform if you are a community member on a therapeutic journey or seeking further education in the mental health, substance abuse, and personal development spaces. Our workshops lay a foundation for self-discovery and psychoeducation. Based on our experience, you may look for continued personal exploration following this education, and we now offer intensives that can give you further insight. During our workshops and intensives, you can access our therapeutic team and examine whether there is a more profound need for further assessment or therapeutic services.

At Hanley Center, our mission is to provide everyone we serve with a clear path to a life of healing and restoration. Adding outpatient services to the HCC program allows us to offer more local community access. We look forward to being able to serve those in need at multiple levels of care. If you or a loved one are struggling with mental health, addiction, or co-occurring disorders, we are here to help.
