Dr. John Dyben, DHSc, MCAP, CMHP – Chief Clinical Officer, Hanley Center 

Dr. John DybenDr. John Dyben is the Chief Clinical Officer at Hanley Center, where he leads clinical programming, research initiatives, and evidence-based treatment innovation to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care. With more than two decades of leadership in behavioral healthcare, addiction treatment, mental health, and family systems, Dr. Dyben is widely recognized as an expert in substance use disorders, ethics, trauma-informed care, and recovery. 

His clinical expertise spans addiction treatment, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, older adult behavioral health, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Throughout his career, Dr. Dyben has remained committed to advancing best practices through clinical leadership, education, research, and public advocacy. 

In addition to his leadership at Hanley, Dr. Dyben served for 12 years as an adjunct faculty member in the Human Services Department at Palm Beach State College, where he taught courses in crisis intervention, dual diagnosis, and domestic violence. He is also a nationally recognized speaker who has presented at leading conferences and universities across the country on topics including addiction treatment, ethics, psychostimulant use disorders, chronic pain, spirituality in counseling, and behavioral healthcare. 

Dr. Dyben has authored numerous professional publications on addiction, recovery, and mental health, and has contributed to journals including CounselorSocial Work TodayToday’s Geriatric Medicine, and The Sober World. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to translating research into compassionate, evidence-based care that improves outcomes for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
