What medical services do we provide?

Hanley Center’s Medical Services Unit provides medically-managed detoxification and related medical and mental health services for men, women and older adults in a safe and comfortable environment.

Our detox unit is staffed 24 hours a day with experienced nurses who provide attentive care and treat patients for any co-existing medical conditions they might have, such as

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Alcoholic liver disease
  • Anemia
  • Malnutrition
  • Eating disorders
  • Colds and flu

Because each patient comes to us with their own unique medical needs, both physically and physiologically, we offer a comprehensive array of medical and ancillary services:

  • 24/7 licensed registered nursing care and medication administration
  • Psychiatry and psychology services
  • Diabetic evaluation
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Respiratory treatments
  • Comprehensive pain management
  • Onsite phlebotomy services
  • Nutritional counseling with registered dieticians
  • Physical therapy
  • Wound care
  • Acupuncture
  • Massage
  • Smoking cessation program

When patients need a service we don’t provide, such as dental care, vision care, audiology, diagnostic imaging, etc., we will send them to a specialist at a nearby health care facility.

Knowledge is Power
At Hanley Center, we believe in the power of education, and our medical staff is constantly educating and counseling patients on matters related to their personal health and addiction. Whether through individual counseling or group lectures, patients will learn about

  • Nutrition
  • Diabetes management
  • Hormonal shifting in relationship to addiction

Managing Chronic Pain
Chronic pain can easily deter a patient from focusing on their recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. That’s why it’s vitally important to monitor and manage an addict’s chronic pain with a multi-disciplinary approach that includes

  • Acupuncture
  • Massage therapy
  • Spiritual care
  • Wellness activities

Non-addicting pain medications may also be prescribed for pain control. The medical staff oversees each patient’s pain management program to ensure the patient is physically comfortable and able to go about their daily activities without assistance. The ultimate goal is to enable the patient to embrace and maintain a healthy lifestyle free of addictive medications.
